Title sequence - quick shots of Union Jack flag intercut with b/w stills of ventriloquist dummy Lord Charles, posing as 'Lord of the Manor'. Reel 1. Car driving through countryside. Cavendish the chauffeur driving and singing 'There'll Always Be An England'. Dummy Lord Charles is asleep in the back and dreaming of mediaeval Welsh people at night, breaking into or out of a castle with flaming torches. Still dreaming he instructs Cavendish to take to the air and we see aerial shots of fields, castles, rivers and coastline in Wales. The car is apparently flying upside down; joke shots of a plane and a seagull also upside down. The car 'lands' and Lord Charles wakes up. He is still imagining that mediaeval Welsh on horseback are after them.

Man on a harvesting machine in a country field. Car zooming along country road, intercut with quick shots of Welsh flag. Shots of mountains, lakes, Roman ruins, coastline, stone circles, man rock-climbing, castle. Several C/Us of pub signs. Two men drinking in pub and chatting. Tenby beach scenes - girls in bikinis playing with beach balls, seaside shots. Beach hut. Couple sipping drinks on a terrace. Children playing swingball. Cavendish looks in beach huts to find Lord Charles. (Break between reels 01:51:22 to 01:51:30.)

Reel 2. Port Merion village. Subtropical gardens with lily ponds and goldfish. Man dressed as King walks in garden. Actors in gardens rehearse / perform Hamlet in Welsh. More mountains, lakes, beach and sea scenes, river. Cut to footage with title 'Shakespeare Land' - a travelogue within this programme about Stratford-upon-Avon. We see Lord Charles, Ray Alan and Cavendish in a cinema watching the film. Cavendish appears in the film, telling us about the area. Countryside. Anne Hathaway's cottage, deer in a park.

Back on the road, shots of countryside, man with boat on his back, girl hikers, guards in busbies marching, girls in togas handing round fruit. Shots of Bath - Roman Baths with people re-enacting Roman festival, Pulteney Bridge, street scenes. Cut to Cavendish in bed in hotel room composing poetic travelogue commentary.
