Great film showing popular party games of the 1920s.
Excellent footage of 1920s party games.
Bright young things sit around at a party waiting for something exciting to happen. C/Us of couples looking bored and yawning. The hostess has an inspiration - the "match box" game. She explains the rules to her friends. They start the game - matchbox passed from nose to nose - laughter ensues. Forfeits are given to those who drop the box. "The rabbit's kiss" is illustrated. A couple have a piece of cotton thread in their mouths - one at each end. They then chew the cotton, getting closer and closer to each other, eventually ending up in a kiss. Another forfeit is to sit on a bottle laid down on the floor and try to light a cigarette. A woman tries but finds it hard to keep her balance. "Adam" has a go and fails miserably, falling on to the floor.
The "blindfold supper" is next. A man in a blindfold has a spoon in his mouth with either sugar or bread on the spoon. He tries to feed his blindfolded partner without the help of his hands. A man has to pick a pencil up from the seat of a chair with his mouth whilst hanging off it (difficult to explain and difficult to do it seems!). Eve is tempted with an apple - she has to take a bite of an apple hanging from a string. Three girls have a go together.
