Oxford - Cambridge Boat Race - long story with good shots; most of the closer shots very clear.

    River Thames.

Various shots of the various crews carrying their boats from building; putting them into water; then returning for oars. They push boats out; some helped by several older men on the riverbank who push the boat out by the oars. Teams sitting in boats; they start to turn it round and row towards start. Some shots show rowers carrying oars past big crowd crammed together on the bank; more people on balcony and looking out of windows of building behind; a few news cameramen filming with hand-cranked cameras.

Another interesting shot shows coxswain taking his place in the rear seat of boat and getting hold of a cord in each hand; these are connected to a small rudder in the back. Some nice shots looking across the rippling water. Then many wide shots of race in progress - these are more blurry or grainy; partly due to foggy weather. Shot from very high place looking over river as two boats race past; spectators in rowing boats along the side cheer for the rowers as they pass. High angle shot crowds.
