    L/S across River Thames to the Westminster Palace and Big Ben. Angle shot, looking up at Big Ben. Top shot looking down the spiral staircase inside Big Ben, Mr. Charles King making his way up to the belfry. Walking shot, up the steps.

    Mr. King walking into the room where clock mechanism is, he fits winding handle to the mechanism and starts to wind. C/U Mr. King winding, camera pans down to the handle. C/U plaque on side of mechanism reading: "Fixed Here 1859". L/S clock mechanism working. Panning shot various bells in the belfry, we see Big Ben.

    L/S Big Ben. Angle shot the clock face from inside. M/S Mr. King stepping in beside the pendulum, he places a penny on it to slow clock down. C/U Mr. King placing some more pennies on the pendulum. C/U pendulum swinging with pennies on it.

    L/S Big Ben striking, then the hammer raising again. C/U hammer striking again and then rising again. G/V across the Thames at the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben against sunset.
