Strange film showing men looking at saucy pictures at book stalls in Paris.
L/S of men standing by a wall reading. Intertitle suggests that they are reading saucy material: ""On Paris quays the bookworms feed, Just lots of things you shouldn't read." Notre Dame is seen in the background. L/S of book stalls in the open air. Men walk along and browse through the books. "Beneath the trees, 'Midst fakes and quacks, Seedy students seek for facts." Closer shot of men looking through the books and pamphlets. The Seine visible in the background. C/U of man in beret looking at a pictorial print.
"On the other hand, Gents with taste, Don't let their chances go to waste." Studious looking man picks up a large book and looks at the spine. C/U of the title: "Journal de L'Explorateur." He opens the book and turns the pages. He finds a picture in the front of the book and holds it up. A scantily clad woman stands holding out the edges of her slip! "While others freely scan the vamps, But sink their coin in cancelled stamps!" A man walks along swinging his cane. He approaches a book stall. He picks up a magazine featuring the beauty of the female form. He turns the pages and we get a few glimpses of a few photographs. He speaks to the stall holder and buys something which the man gets from round the back of a poster. We don't see what it is - something small though. A bit strange. "but our camera went one better when it found these live pages - " C/Us of various shots of kittens surrounded by a masking device to make them look as if they are on the pages of a photograph album.
