Various shots General Hodges with other officers. Various shots as he emerges from building with General Dempsey (?). Various shots as the two men chat. M/S Hodges emerging with clergyman, they chat for a while then he gets in car and it drives off.

    The date of filming for this clip was 15 September 1944.

    The footage was shot by the U.S. Army Signal Corps.

    Note that, despite the title, this clip features not just American Officers but also a high-ranking British one, more of whom later.

    "General Hodges" should read Lt. Gen. Courtney Hodges.

    "General Miles Dempsey (?)" - yes, it's Lt. Gen. Miles E. Dempsey. He was Commander of the British Second Army.

    "Hodges emerging with clergyman" - the clergyman is Archbishop Francis J Spellman.
