Victorian, Edwardian and 1920s fashions are contrasted with those of the present day.
Soundtrack is currently missing for this story.
Titles read: "Beginnings and Ends".
Various locations of events - studio shots probably in the Pathe Studio.
Brief shots of a race meeting in the 1920s, contrasted with scenes at a racecourse in 1938 (presumably), concentrating on the ladies' fashions. We then see women walking about in a city street wearing fashionable coats of the day, contrasted with several studio shots of women modelling Victorian clothes - day dresses and swimsuits, evening dresses and various styles of hats.
We the see an Edwardian dress for a garden party with a feather boa, and a fashionable beaver hat from the same era - 2 feet across and weighing 2 lbs! Then some fashions from the 1920s.
Note: looking at the commentary for this story, I think the shots of Ascot from the 20s and 30s originally came at the end of the story.
