  • Short Summary

Quirky stuff - probably designed for children - a high diver and an escape artist. c. 1950

  • Description

Man in swimming trunks climbs a very high ladder to a platform above a tank. Shot of his dive from below. He climbs out of tank. Children watch. Shot from above as he climbs the tower again. Slow motion footage of another dive into the tank. The name Pat Collins is visible beside the tank - perhaps the stunt diver's name. Different angle of the dive to show from how high he is diving. C/U of his face as he emerges from underwater squirting water from his mouth.

We see a man who is tied up from behind. His hands and legs are all tied up with string. A poster is visible which names Ladd West, The American Spitfires, The Great Alfoldis Troupe and Fredel. The man is lifted from his feet high into the air. The crowd look up at him. He wriggles and twists (shot from above, crowd visible below until his hands are freed, he then releases his feet and is lowered to the ground freed from his bondage. Persil sign visible, and a chemist shop. Also London bus seen below him as he struggles.
