Young animals are bottle fed at Ifracombe Zoo Park.
Ilfracombe Zoo Park, Devon.
M/Ss of a baby barn owl (seven weeks old) sitting on a woman's arm and being fed; it's feathers are extremely fluffy and downy. A grey squirrel runs up another woman's arm to her shoulder and sits there eating nuts.
M/S of Charles Trevisick feeding a young chimpanzee, Baba, with a banana; he then takes a small lemonade bottle from his pocket and the chimp drinks from it, then turns his head against Charles' chest as if he is shy. C/U as he has some more banana. M/S of a monkey eating a banana.
Various shots as some young white goats and black sheep are bottle fed in a pen. The same woman feeds a sugar and milk mixture to a three-month-old black bear cub, standing on his hind legs. M/S of a young Upland Goose. M/Ss and C/U as a rare Andalusian mule and a Shetland Pony feed from a bucket held by a woman; the mule is ten weeks old. Brief M/S of two young boys (one in a cowboy hat) watching with their Dad.
Although the title of this story is 'Baby Animals', I think 'Juvenile' would be more appropriate; they don't look that small to me!
Note: print used for telecine transfer is quite scratched; neg is incomplete. On file are notes on the animals seen, a leaflet about Ilfracombe Zoo Park and a letter from Charles Trevisick (Professional Zoologist Show Consultant) suggesting the story.
