  • Short Summary

Footage of Australian soldiers in Egypt.

  • Description

Australians in Egypt. Location of events unknown.

Line of Australian soldiers lying on stomachs in the sand; with rifle; hills or dunes of desert in distance. Men ride horses past behind row; each rider also holding onto a few other horses. They stop behind the row of soldiers. Soldiers jump up and run back; mount the extra horses. They line up; and start to ride to left -- cool looking. Camp in Egypt; with skinny trees; soldiers walking around; some sitting; conical tents; like tepees.

Desert landscape again; a couple soldiers can be seen in ditch -- or trench; the sand version. Long line of riders on horseback stretching across entire screen; advancing across sand. They stop; dismount; and run forward and fling themselves down on the ground again. Then; in reverse of the beginning; some of the men ride away holding the reins of extra horses; taking all of them.

    World War One. Cavalry; battle.
