World War One. Opens with shot of men in pyjamas in beds; and in uniform, sitting on chairs between beds; all eating from trays. CU man sitting up in bed; talking; laughing; joking; he makes gesture with hand; sort of like salute.

Outdoor scene; in park, field or garden; 2 soldiers stand pan to more guys standing and then to a net; a guy with a cricket bat is in front of net; and another guy stands further in front; maybe the bowler. CU batsman; with one arm in a cast; getting ready; tapping the bat on the ground and hitting the ball.
