Titles read: "AUSTRALIAN SURF MEN - IN PALESTINE".
Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia.
High angle shot shows men marching towards the sea on Bondi Beach in a 1939 lifeguard display.
We then see various shots of Australian soldiers putting on a lifesaving display on a beach in Palestine. A large crowd watches, including Australian nurses and General Sir Thomas Blamey, as the men in trunks march up and down the beach, some carrying flags.
The men give a display of surf rescue and the Australian Broadcasting Commission's mobile unit transmits the scene to homes thousands of miles away - C/U of radio engineer wearing headphones. A small group of men take part in a sprinting race along the beach. M/S of marching men in trunks on the beach fades into shot of Australian troops in uniform marching along. Soundtrack plays an Australian wartime song referring to a "nasty nazi".
