Butchers take their aprons off and put on their uniforms, as do other tradesman. A man dictates a letter to his secretary then leaves for a parade. L/S as the camera pans across the men practising with bayonets, guns, Molotov cocktails and mortars. They parade and salute. A scientific instrument maker hands his card to someone as he works on one of the instruments. Various shots as they fix barbed wire etc. People walk along in a crowd and the camera fades to ANZACS (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) marching.
