Although it mentions baseball in the title of the film, this was actually the Ladies \"Softball\" Championship at Sunnyside Stadium in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Sunnyside Stadium regularly featured women\'s softball matches which often outdrew the local minor league baseball team. The stadium, opened in 1924, was part of the Sunnyside Amusement Park located on the Lake Ontario waterfront.
