My father was a member of the 1938 KCS winning team, and appears briefly in the preview clip. I just came across his silver winner's medal and also a bronze medal for the "Cadet Pair" competition of the previous year.
I had no idea this record existed!
May I offer some comments on the descriptive notes accompanying the clip:-
1. The winners' name is King's College SCHOOL, Wimbledon - King's College itself is the London University College from which the school was spun off in 1829.
2. Although it was the third time in the decade that KCS had won the competition, the years were 1932, 1934 and 1938, not 'in a row'.
3. Sadly, the instructor's hope that it wouldn't be the last time KCS win the competition, has yet to be fulfilled. I myself was part of the 1965 team that did not achieve the dream.
