Soldiers in a horse riding display and marching through the streets of a city.
Location of events unknown.
Various shots of soldiers in training at an army riding school or sports ground. Spectators watch as the men on horseback come over a low jump, approaching camera. They are riding bareback - the horse wears a strap round its middle but no saddle. Some of the men do a little stunt, jumping off and back onto their horse while it is cantering, either before or just after the jump. The idea seems to be to mount the horse in mid-jump.
Then we see riders and their horses jumping a higher fence. Cavalry trainees attempt to take the jump while holding onto a dummy on the front of their horse, probably to represent a wounded soldier. Spectators watch.
Cut to different location where we see a procession of soldiers marching through a city. Some men push bicycles. One man has a large black dog on a lead - a mascot. A military band is among the troops marching past.
Modified WPA record.
