Army cadets in training at Shorncliffe, Kent.
Various shots of boy army cadets on manoeuvres in the Kent countryside. We see them walking along a country road. Some look very small and young - aged between 14 and 18 years. The boys jump in and out of bushes, run along lanes and across fields, lie on grassy banks and fire their rifles. They seem to be running through a smoke screen at one stage, or could just be the smoke from their guns.
Outside the camp buildings the boys line up. An officer walks along the lines of cadets and inspects them. The boys march across the parade ground, then run to get in line for the canteen.
