    Armistice Day, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

    Panning L/S over vast crowds gathered around war memorial; World War One veterans, servicemen, war widows observing minute silence. Various L/Ss of crowds. We see the men in the crowd simultaneously replace their hats and caps - signalling the end of the minute. M/S of group of dignitaries wearing assortment of cocked and top hats. The Lady Mayoress Isabella Lupton is seen wearing Chains of Office. Preceding her is the Sergeant-at Mace who leads the procession. The Great Mace of Leeds was made in 1694 and is carried here before the Lady Mayoress to represent Royal Authority.
    M/S of the dignitaries walking away from the memorial, some wearing paper poppies in their button holes. M/S Various shots of women and children laying wreaths at the base of the memorial.

    Notes: The Lupton Family are Kate Middleton's ancestors. Isabella, the Lady Mayoress was married to the Lord Mayor Hugh Lupton who is the Duchess of Cambridge's great-great-great Uncle.
