    This film probably dates from around 1916. A veteran who has had an amputation has an artificial leg fitted.

    The wooden leg is first seen in a vice. It has a boot on the foot and looks quite bizarre. C/U of the leg being fitted. Strings are pulled and straps fastened.

    Disabilities; medical aids, artificial limbs.

    Note: there is a flash-frame title which reads: "An efficient substitute. Modern science supplies artificial limbs almost equal to nature."
