Baseball game between American and Canadian soldiers in Britain.
Americans V Canadians - Baseball.
Location of events unknown - somewhere in Britain.
Baseball game between Americans and Canadians. DS field with game in progress; row houses across street in background. Shot from close behind left-handed batter preparing to swing; moving his bat in a circular motion; church spire in distance. The pitcher throws and the batter seems to more jump out of the way than swing. Cut to shot of another pitch with sides reversed. This time right-handed batter. Pitcher winds up and throws; batter hits the ball straight to the pitcher who catches it and throws toward first.
Shot of soldier spectators sitting in front of some large tents; some of the American guys in FG pop up and yell; one of them stays standing in crouched position as he watches the game. Shot of players some standing watching; as one starts argument with an officer (maybe the umpire) who then pushes the angry player back a few steps.
Next a shot of some excited Canadian soldiers watching and cheering; laughing; some waving hats; etc. Canadians are the winners. CU 2 players in baseball uniforms pose with Canadian soldier; as some guy in back larks about; grabs the other soldiers' Army hats; etc. Then a shot of the whole Canadian team posing for a picture; with 3 men in Army uniforms sitting in centre of front row; one of them holding large trophy cup.
Recreation; fun; anger; World War One. Sports.
