The All Blacks departed from Wellington in Oct 1953. In a book written about the tour by a John Hayhurst titled “The Fourth All Blacks 1953 – 1954” it records that “the Fourth All Blacks were driven through the streets of Wellington in cars – many observers said they might have been spared the embarrassment – and onto Parliament house, commanding a position looking out over Wellington harbor where the Prime Minister ,Mr Sidney Holland and MPs, together with several former All Blacks took leave of the of the team at the state reception”. They flew from Wellington to Sydney, then to Darwin, then Djakata in Java, to Singapore, then Calcutta and Karachi, Beirut, Basra Iraq, Zurich, Rome then London. The book records individual details of all the matches the All Blacks played on that tour - some featured in other clips available e.g. vs Eastern Counties, Llanelli and Scotland in Murrayfield - use the Advanced Search facility to find them.
