    Several shots of young boys playing football in East End alley, London. M/S of little boy called Alfie (the commentator calls him the champion centre forward of the future), he gets tangled up with the ball and falls over. L/S and M/S of Alfie sitting down on step holding head in hand as he falls asleep. The boy dreams about walking out onto the pitch at Wembley stadium. Several shots of Alfie kicking football along pitch towards the goal. He is chased by the caretaker. He manages to score a goal before picking up his ball and heading for the nearest exit. M/S of Alfie asleep on steps whilst the other boys continue to play football. The ball hits him at which point he wakes up and joins in the game again.

    My Uncle Ronnie is Alfie - he appeared in other Pathe short films. My wonderful Father is one of the other boys playing football. The film was shot in Bethnal Green, outside their block of flats.
    Fabulous piece of family history.
