After doing some research I believe that the lady speaking in this film is Lydia Sarah Jiggins. Lydia lived at No. 2, Sebastopol Road, Edmonton, London, N.9. In the early hours of August 24th 1940 there was a night time air raid and Luftwaffe bombers released bombs that hit several locations in London, including; Stepney, Hackney, Tottenham and Edmonton. Some of these bombs also landed on St Giles Church Cripplegate. It was reported at the time that this was one of the first 'night-time' air raids to hit the civilian population in London. As such the press covered this and took several photos and also the Pathe film of the aftermath of the air raid in Sebastopol road, Edmonton. It has also been reported that it was these air raids on August 24th 1940 that led to the decision by Churchill to launch the first air raid on Berlin the next evening, August 25th 1940, in retaliation. This triggered Hitler to direct the Luftwaffe to bomb the cities of Britain and this became the Blitz.
