    The test pilot described here is former WWII fighter ace John "Cat's Eyes" Cunningham.

    The event filmed here took place on 6 February 1954.

    This historic aircraft is a de Havilland DH106 Comet 2R, Reg. No. G-AMXA. (As of 2012, its nose section is on display at the Al Mahatah Museum, Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates).
