    CU. First Lord of the Admiralty, Earl of Selkirk, seated beside the First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff Lord Louis Mountbatten. Lord Selkirk talks of the new Navy and its effect on the naval shore station many of which are to be closed.

    First Sea Lord Earl Mountbatten speaking - natural sound. CU. Lord Mountbatten. He mentions the closing off shore stations as a result of the desire to put more sailors and ships to sea. He finishes by saying that he thinks the prospects for the Royal Navy are very bright.
