    Cardinal Verdier takes the throne and overseas service. CU of prayer candles. Five priests who are to be missionaries kneel before the altar. They remove their outer dark robes to reveal the white robes they will wear henceforth. The Cardinal blesses them. Various shots of the service. The priests walk in procession down the aisle. CU Candles.

    Old record reads: "France. 'Ad Salvansos Astros' (for the salvation of Africa). Cardinal Verdier in the presence of vast congregation, invests 5 priests in the Order of 'The White Fathers' to be missionaries in the Sahara. (First film of this ceremony to be taken in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart)."
