    Pacific Ocean.

    Carrier USS Hornet at sea. Various shots on board the carrier during air attack from Japanese planes. The Hornet's guns in action and the Japanese raiders come low over ship, some take a dive into the sea after being hit. Planes attempting to land on the carrier, do so with difficulty and the deck crews help with the mishaps. One plane catches fire. A Japanese bomb hits the flight deck and smoke and a hole appears on it. Various shots of damage caused by the carrier and its planes.
