Jim Brady became a newsagent in Dundee. He was a very nice man and I got to know him a little in 1977, a few years before his death. Even at that age he packed a huge punch. He was tiny but I saw him floor a young man who was harassing him with one punch. The guy didn't know what had hit him! Brady was a product of the old boxing booths and had a very hard life. In the newsreel, although he's a relatively young man, he looks ancient.

Jim Brady was my great uncle ,my grandfather Joe was his brother, It was great seeing the coverage its the first time i have seen him fight on video I have a couple of pictures from local media and a postcard which i purchased online, i also remember his shop in polepark, the weeist shop in dundee. I have a photo of him at a weigh in with Benny Lynch (who he fought many times) and Benny is standing on a stool .. really he was that small . Mark Brady
