• Short Summary

Gas masks are made and tried on by British people to prepare for possible gas air raids in the future.

  • Description

Titles read: "A.R.P. AIR - RAID - PRECAUTIONS".

    Various locations of events.

Brief shots in an unidentified location show aeroplanes dropping gas bombs on a city. Commentator asks "Will this ever happen over London?".

Good shots of gas masks being made in a factory. A line of men stand on a dockside wearing gas masks; a man standing with them puts his mask on very slowly. A line of Post Office telegraph boys put their hats on over their gas masks and go into a shed labelled 'Danger - Gas'. In a London nightclub we see brief shots of showgirls, musicians and chefs putting their gas masks on and taking them off.

Note: there are several sections of this story without visuals; soundtrack continues throughout. It's a shame as it sounds like there was some good footage there!
