The end of the shots list suggest that the hairdresser featured here, Riche, created the Beehive hairstyle. However, the Beehive was actually created by an American hairdresser in the early 1960s.

I would dispute Jamied's comment above 29/march 2013, for you can see proof here this Pathé news reel was issued three years+ earlier in 1957, hairstyle designed by the Haute Coiffure Hairstylist Riché in London and was all part of the launch prepared of the United Artists Film The Vikings starring Kirk Douglas. These hairstyles and adornments designed to lift the hair over the crown of the head supported the publicity of that film for the premier in London with great success and subsequently the hairstyle became popular worldwide. In those days fashion trends did take longer to travel but there is no denying the evidence of this Pathé news report! Incidentally I should know I was there at the launch!
