  • Description

    A. C. Astor. Part of issue RAIL, ROAD AND SEA.

    Pathe Studios, London.

Popular radio and variety ventriloquist, A. C. Astor, performs with sailor dummy. The dummy is sitting on a bench holding baby, there is a set of the River Thames behind him. The dummy tells Astor a sad tale about being in love with a ship mates' girlfriend. He goes on to explain that a woman left her baby with him for 10 minutes and has not returned. The dummy then sings a sentimental song - "Spike Sullivan's Girl". Quite depressing!
