    The Soviet Union and Finland have signed a protocol on extending for another 20 years the treaty of friendship, co-operation and mutual assistance, which was concluded on April 6th, 1948. The ceremony took place in the Kremlin on the 20th of this month. The protocol was signed by the Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko, on behalf of the Soviet parliament's presidium, and by the Finish Foreign Minister Mr. Leskinen, on behalf of the Finnish President.

    Present at the ceremony on the Soviet side were Leonid Brezhnev, Alexei Kosygin, Nikolai Podgorni and other officials.

    On the Finnish side there were President Kekkonen, other officials and the Finnish Ambassador to the Soviet Union Mr. Hallama.

    During his stay in the Soviet Union President Kekkonen went to Moscow's Red square to lay a wreath at the Lenin Mausoleum.

    The head of the friendly state also laid a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier by the Kremlin.
