    Background: In Cairo, Egyptians Ali Dawoodi and Abdul Ghani Mohammed won the men's doubles titles in the All-African tennis Championships on Saturday (14 December).

    The Egyptian players met Nigeria's P. Alan and L. Awopegba in the finals held at Gezira Sporting Club.

    They won the game 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

    The match was closely contested, but the Egyptians were in the lead defending well against the Nigerians' good, fast services throughout the game.

    Despite the performance, they drew a poor crowd.
