SV Mr. Churchill speaks:- "To feel on this occasion that we rise far above ordinary political strife, and that those underlying unities on which the British Nation & British Empire & Commonwealth have grown up find a great example, a provisional & outstanding example here in these Alamein gatherings."
SV General Eisenhower speaks:- "When I came up here this evening, & they said I was to talk a bit, & I said about what, & they said about three minutes. (Applause) applause at that moment is just a bit disconcerting (Laughter) for after all both you & Monty know that I am not contesting for any favours on October 25th. (Laughter)
SCU General Eisenhower speaks:- "The time has come when a power on earth has decided that the stake is more important that a human soul, & he intends to enforce that idea by power of arms, by secret & terrible methods of the Police state. By the danger & the gun"
