Vice President Spiro Agnew of the United States has been paying a brief visit to Thailand. He punctuated his stay there with a three hour trip to Saigon for top-level conference with Vietnamese and American leaders.
The Vice President was received at Bangkok airport by officials of the Thai government and the U.S. Ambassador, Mr Leonard Unger.
Later, at a reception at the ambassador's residence, Mr. Agnew met Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn, the Thai leader. They drank a toast and chatted together before a large crowd of cameramen and reporters.
