Background: In Turkey, relatives have been collecting the bodies of victims from Sunday's aircrash.

SYNOPSIS: The bodies were taken in coffins from a mortuary in Isparta, near the Black Mountain, the scene of the accident. Most of the victims were Italian and West German holiday makers on their way to the Turkish Mediterranean resort of Antalya.

Many people came from Germany to collect the bodies. And while they went through formalities, officials are still trying to discover the cause of the accident. They're being hampered because the Boeing 727 crashed in an area where there are no roads nearby. So far the only conclusive evidence available shows that the jet flew remarkably low over Isparta town.

The investigators have found the plane's flight recorder and are hoping they can now clear up conflicting eyewitness reports. Some say the airliner caught fire it burst into flames on impact.

The crash was the worst ever in Turkey, and Turkish Airlines' biggest since March 1974. Then, one of its DC-10s came down near Paris, killing all 346 aboard in the world's biggest air disaster. Turkey's Prime Minister Suleyman Demirel has sent a message of condolence to the Italian government and to the families of the victims.
