Background: The foreign minister of Japan, Aiichiro Fujiyama, arrives in Vancouver for the start of a seven-day visit to Canada, at the invitation of the minister for external affairs, Mr. Smith. He's met by the Japanese ambassador to Canada, the Japanese consul in Vancouver and a number of Canadians of Japanese descent. After spending two days at the mountain resort of Banff, Mr. Fujiyama was to fly to Ottawa for talks with Canadian government officials. He says they will discuss matters of mutual interest and concern. The Japanese foreign minister will leave Ottawa for Washington on September tenth and will also attend the U-N General Assembly.
