More than 900 swimmers, comprising 9 different nationalities among whom were Chuangs, Miaos and Yaos, joined the crossing. Some of the swimmers are government functionaries and factory and mining workers; others are students.

All the participants made the crossing with success. The river is 300 metres wide.
