    Background: A THREE-MAN UNITED NATIONS DELEGATION ARRIVED IN DAR ES SALAAM THIS WEEK TO DISCUSS WITH THE TANZANIAN GOVERNMENT FACILITIES FOR THE ISSUE OF TRAVEL DOCUMENTS TO SOUTH-WEST AFRICAN REFUGEES LIVING IN TANZANIA. YESTERDAY, THEY MET REPRESENTATIVES OF THE SOUTH-WEST AFRICAN PEOPLE'S ORGANISATION (SWAPO).

    THE UNITED NATIONS TEAM IS LED BY SIR JOHN CARTER, THE GUYANA AMBASSADOR TO THE UNTIED NATIONS AND THE UNITED STATES. HIS COLLEAGUES ARE MR. ABDEL WAHEB OF THE UNITED ARAB REPUBLIC AND UNITED NATIONS LEGAL COUNSEL, CONSTANTINE STAVROPOULOS. THEY RECEIVED THE SWAPO DELEGATION, HEADED BY ITS PRESIDENT MR. SAM NUJAMA AT THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE.

    SINCE THEY ARRIVED, THE THREE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UNITED NATIONS COUNCIL FOR NAMIBIA HAVE MET THE TANZANIAN FOREIGN AND HOME AFFAIRS MINISTERS. THEY HOPE THAT THE 100 OR SO NAMIBIAN REFUGEES IN TANZANIA WHO WISH TO LEAVE CAN BE ISSUED WITH DOCUMENTS BY THE COUNCIL, ENDORSED FOR RE-ENTRY BY TANZANIA.

    THE U.N. TEAM WILL FLY TO ADDIS ABABA AT THE WEEKEND TO MEET OTHER AFRICAN MINISTERS AT AN ORGANISATION OF AFRICAN UNITY MEETING THERE ON FEBRUARY 17TH.
