    MADAME NGO DINH NHU HAS BEEN A FIERCE CRITIC OF BUDDHISTS TAKING PART IN ANTI-GOVERNMENT DEMONSTRATIONS.

    IN BELGRADE SHE DEFENDED THE GOVERNMENT AND MAINTAINED THE POLITICAL AND MILITARY SITUATION AT HOME WAS NOT AND NEVER HAD BEEN "DESPERATE". SHE PLANNED A VISIT TO THE UNITED STATES NEXT MONTH.

    IN THE SAIGON INTERVIEW SHE WAS ASKED TO EXPLAIN THE "BRUTALITY" USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO BREAK UP DEMONSTRATIONS. THE INTERVIEWER SAID HE HAD ONLY JUST LEFT A HOSPITAL WHERE 13 BUDDHISTS WERE RECOVERING FROM INJURIES.
