    The third "Paris en Filme" festival is due to begin on Friday (7 July), and the film museum at the Cinematheque Franchise is sure to be visited by many of those attending the festival.

    "Paris on Films" has become a popular annual event, permitting visitors to see every variety of motion picture on Paris. The programme consists of films from the 1890"s to the present and many of them are otherwise unavailable. This year's programme is especially impressive, embracing 75 years of Parisian history.

    Many of the films to be shown in the festival are supplied by the Cinematheque Franchise, which is France's National Library of Film. At the Cinematheque, located in the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, a museum of film is open to visitors. There, memorabilia from seventy-five years of world cinema are on display.

    SYNOPSIS: The world of film from a day gone by can be seen at the museum of the Cinematheque Franchise in Paris.

    Known primarily as being the National Film Library for France, the Cinematheque now has the largest and most complete museum covering the past seventy-five years of world cinema. Filming equipment from the earliest days of the cinema is on display, together with recreations of some of the great moments in film.

    Costumes, too are on display. This week should see the influx of a large number of visitors, as the third annual "Paris an Films" festival is due to get underway on Friday. The popular event permits visitors to see every variety of motion picture dealing with Paris from the 1890's to the present day. This year's programme is especially impressive, embracing seventy-five years of Parisian history. Of course, most of the films in the programme are supplied by the Cinematheque. This year's exhibition will open with the U.S. made "Seventh Heaven", recipient of the first Academy Award ever bestowed.
