The five-man committee continues to meet and try and work out detailed plans to resolve Lebanon's prolonged crisis. They are expected to submit proposals based on resolutions adopted at the Beiteddin conference, the main one being to prevent renewed fighting, by the replacement of the Syrian troops with the Saudi troops. But in the areas still controlled by the Syrian members of the ADF, clashes have occurred and the right-wing Falangist radio reported seven Syrian soldiers were killed on Tuesday (24 October).
