    Background: To day British Prime Minister Mr. Harold Wilson had a full day in as much as after paying homage to the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, he went to the City Hall where the Mayor Petrucci greeted him and then proceed to have a first contact with President of Italian Council Moro together with Mr. Fanfani.

    After these 'preliminaries' Mr. Wilson was the guest of honour at a luncheon given at the Quirinal Palace. After the reception Mr. Wilson had a meeting with President Saragat which lasted about an hour.

    Present at the meeting were Mr. Wilson, his close collaborators, Mr. Moro, Mr. Fanfani and other high exponents of the Italian Government.

    Late this afternoon Mr. Wilson was received by Pope Paul VI at the Vatican in a special audience which lasted about forty minutes Mr. Wilson was accompanied by his wife and after the private meeting the British Prime Minister's entourage was also received by the Pontiff.

    An 'exchange of gifts' took place after which Mr. Wilson took leave of Paul VI.
