Background: Greek Prime Minister Constantine Karamanlis, and his wife arrived in Dodecanesian island of Rhodes, Apr 19, for a short holiday. When their ship docked, a group of island dancers were on hand to greet the couple.
Later, at the invitation of film producer Carl Foreman, the visitors watched the cast of the "Guns of Navarone", at work on a scene from the film, outside the village of Kalithea. They were introduced to film stars Gregory Peck, David Niven, Gia Scala and Irene Pappas, who are all members of the cast.
When the filming was completed, an Easter party was held in honour of the Greek Prime Minister and his wife.
