    MR PRAFUL PATEL, THE SECRETARY OF THE LONDON-BASED UNITED KINGDOM CITIZENS COMMITTEE, WAS YESTERDAY (THURSDAY) DECLARED A PROHIBITED IMMIGRANT IN KENYA AND GIVEN 24 HOURS TO LEAVE.

    MR PATEL, A CRITIC OF BRITAIN'S IMMIGRATION POLICY, WAS ON A FACT-FINDING TOUR OF EAST AND CENTRAL AFRICA. HE WAS DUE TO BE JOINED TODAY (FRIDAY) BY BRITISH LABOUR MP. MARTIN ENNALS, AN ADVISER TO THE U.K. CITIZENS COMMITTEE.

    MR PATEL HAS ACCUSED BRITAIN OF ADOPTING DOUBLE STANDARDS TOWARDS IMMIGRATION, ONE FOR WHITE AND ANOTHER FOR NON-WHITES. HE SAID HIS ORGANISATION REPRESENTED OVER 300,000 NON-WHITE BRITISH CITIZENS WHO SOUGHT ENTRY INTO BRITAIN. MR PATEL WAS DECLARED A PROHIBITED CITIZEN IN A STATEMENT BY KENYA'S VICE-PRESIDENT AND MINISTER OF HOME AFFAIRS, MR DANIEL ARAP MOI, WHO SAID THE KENYA GOVERNMENT WOULD NOT TOLERATE PRESSURE GROUP ACTIVITIES IN THE COUNTRY WHICH ARE LIKELY TO LEAD TO INTER-RACIAL DISHARMONY AND DISORDER. MR PATEL HAS NOW FLOWN TO INDIA, ABANDONING HIS PLANS TO VISIT TANZANIA, UGANDA AND ZAMBIA.
