TRANSCRIPT: SEQ. 3: EBAN: "The terrorist organisations, supported, financed and encouraged by Arab government are trying to infect the whole world by their own barbarism; and the object of their attempt is the freedom of the air. Now, not since pirates roamed the seas, has the world community faced a similar challenge to its dignity and to its most vital interests - and everybody who ever travels in an aircraft must ask himself: 'Must my safety and freedom be absolute, or am I the subject of Dr. Habash and his squalid gang of murderers and antisemitics. 'Now the question is - what to do? First of all to condemn, to give no indulgence; second, not to yield because it's been proved that once you realise these terrorists under this kind of pressure they are encouraged to carry out another kidnapping attempt, to punish, to exercise. Lastly, to do what El Al does - to make these crimes as dangerous as possible to those who commit them. That is perhaps the highest deterrent. In short, what the world community can do is effective if it does it to condemn and punish, not to indulge, not to yield, and to take such measures as will create physical conditions under which such organised murder and violence cannot succeed."
