Mr. Ivor Richard, chairman of the Geneva conference on Rhodesia, said in Kenya on Thursday (30 December) that he thought the odds on a settlement of the Rhodesian problem were now slightly better than they were before the Geneva negotiations began. Mr. Richard, Britain's Ambassador to the United Nations, talked to newsmen at Nairobi Airport where he made a brief stop on his way to Zambia while his plane was refuelled.
SYNOPSIS: He was met by British High Commissioner Mr. Stanley Fingland, Mr. Mwaura, Under Secretary in the Kenya Ministry of Home Affairs, and other government officials. He was given lunch before continuing his journey.
Mr. Richard also said he might return to Kenya for talks with the Kenyan government about Rhodesia.
