(Q) "Do you think you ought to explain Berlin's position to those nations which have more importance and greater influence in the United Nations?"
(A) "I think so. I was inn Strasbourg the other week where the European Council had its session and I got the impression that event there it was important to talk long enough with those nations which are represented in NATO even with the neutral countries. This is not just a struggle between the Warsaw Pact --- and Nato it is sometime ??? more than that and if the thing comes up with some kind of discussion within this. United Nations, very important that the delegates represented are informed about our things, Berlin, Germany and the European situation".
(Q) "What solution do you hope for in this present crisis?"
(A) "Well, I don't think that we will get any solution as far as the programme of Berlin is concerned. I don't believe in the necessity of a solution. The Berlin crisis was provoked by the Soviet Government and I think that one has to look the position over. One cannot explain any change as in favour of one side and in disfavour of the other side. What is important is not only to try to solve the Berlin programme is part of it, and the European Security programme. The German programme cannot be looked upon as an isolated thing. Well I have a feeling we will get four-powdered talks sometime this spring and will perhaps get ones on other levels but I think this a good deal useful. I don't think however any results will happen in the near future, but I think one has to try to reach solutions in the because both parts can regard them as corresponding with their own vital interests."
