Hanoi's chief negotiator, Xuan Thuy, made his first appearance today (Thursday) at the Paris Peace Talks after his nine-month absence. The outcome of the meeting was disappointing though - afterwards Mr. Thuy, American negotiator David Bruce and National Liberation Front (Viet Cong) representative Nguyen Van Tien all reported that nothing new had come from the session.
Earlier Mr. Thuy attacked President Nixon's policy in a prepared statement, and said that the Paris conference would never make progress while the United States pursued a policy of aggression and neo-colonisation in South Vietnam.
