    THE PRESENT LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY IN BRUNEI CONSISTS OF 11 NOMINATED MEMBERS, TEN ELECTED MEMBERS AND SIX EX OFFICIOS.AMONG THOSE WHO WERE SWORN IN WAS THE BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER TO BRUNEI, MR.HOLMES.

    BRUNEI IS SOON TO HAVE A MINISTERIAL SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT.A PROPOSAL FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF A COUNCIL OF MINISTERS TO REPLACE THE PRESENT EXECUTIVE COUNCIL WAS APPROVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL TODAY (SATURDAY).ACCORDING TO THE PROPOSAL, ELECTED MEMBERS WILL BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE NEW SYSTEM.THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS WILL BE MADE UP OF THE SIX EX OFFICIO MEMBERS AND FOUR OTHER MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY.
